Hey Guys,

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post, but I was looking at a Monster 696, '09 model. The seller is selling it for $8,000 or so, is this a good price? Kelly Blue Book is saying that it should sell for $6,300.

[EDIT]: Another site is showing it to range from $6,600 to $7,800.
I appreciate any feedback!!

Sounds high to me. I bought my '09 in '08 for $9000.

For an '09, I think $6000-$7000 is more realistic.
 
Thanks guys! I didn't know the value of a monster (it's a Ducati!) would be much lower than I thought, considering it is pretty new.

This seller said that the mileage is very low.. and if it is extremely low mileage, it should still be within $6000-7000?
 
6000 would be fair you can get a 2011 demo model for around 8 with full 2 yr. factory warranty
 
unfortunately bluebook value on motorcycles is not accurate to what people actually are willing to sell them for...
 
I'm going to buy a 696 as well but new. You can get a 2011 w/abs for about 9500. I'm not sure if anyone knows a cheaper place to buy it at this time?
 
i think $8k for an '09 is fair if the mileage isnt too high. There's no way u will get an '09 for $6k, it will be very difficult.
First of all its a ducati... 2ndly is '09, ive never seen '09 japanese bikes with similar displacement been sold for less than $7k
 
Don't forget to check it out GPBikes as well. It's the end of the year..you never know;-)
 
a very low mileage might not be a good thing as heard. assuming the bike has not been dropped/in accident, price should not be more than few hundred $ from blue book value. warranty is over by now as well!
