In simplicity, roads were meant for transportation not recreation. If they are to be efficient they can't handle mixed vehicles with wide ranges of performance. Imagine the 401 without heavy trucks. Imagine a parallel highway for trucks only.

Side walks: Side AKA the edge of the road and walk AKA go by foot is similar with similar speed differential problems, walk, jog, run, bike and electro toys.

Sharing is good but do we equally share Bloor Street by lane space, 1/3 bikes and 2/3 cars or do we do it by volume 87 bikes / 25500 cars with 0.3% of the width (4") being allotted to bikes?

So, zipping down the sidewalk and a person walking steps in front of the thing, what is braking distance?

We need to have some form of licencing system for any transportation item with a motor. We can't just pass new laws every time someone invents a new toy and wait years to correct.
Late 50’s here with 4 electric unicycles and just bought a onewheel yesterday. Most fun I’ve had in years, next to motorcycles of course:)
Never too old to try something new.
