Might buy my first bike today. Question about licensing.

Seller says he will provide a UVIP. So if I end up wanting to buy it, I just have to confirm the VIN number, get insurance, register the bike and get plates, then go back to pick up the bike and attach the plates? Am I missing anything?

In order to get plates you'll have to bring signed ownership, proof of insurance, uvip and safety.

If your gonna safety it yourself you can get a 10 day temp sticker and ride it to get safetied.

Also don't forget you'll pay tax upon registering under your name.

I'd personally get my own UVIP for piece of mind... Make sure it matches the sellers.

Make sure you check the tires, the bike has been sitting for a few years and the tires could potentially be a few years older than that. Old hard tires are not good for anyone. Look for cracks and check the date code, if they were made in the last 5 years and aren't cracked, you should be fine.
