Pricing and planing the option of taking our bikes south for a week to ride some twisties!

any Roads/cities I should be looking at? I hear something about a Dragon's Tail? where is that and/or any other suggestions?

Any tips/advice on what to bring/pack other than the bikes :)

First Winter having a bike and looking at this as an option.

Gap is in NC - still about 0 degrees well into March.....tried to hit it on the way back from Daytona Beach Bike week with the girls a few years ago. It was still too cold to bother unloading.

Go do bike week and head down thru the Keyes. Straight but lovely ride across the islands
 
Thanks for the posts..... Ya people I talked to on the group ride were saying daytona or the keys was a good trip for the winter.

Might be easier just to rent a bike down there but all i can find are cruisers (HD's) any sport bike rental places in FL?

I rented a CBR600 in Ft. Lauderdale in Feb 2010. It did have more selection for scooters and cruisers but there are a lot of places that rent sport bikes.

Don't remember how much it was but it would have been pretty cheap for the week. 24H rental and they picked it up the next day from my hotel.

Nice! I googled some dealers but none advertise sport bikes. lots of HD's and scooters like you said lol Have to keep calling.
 
http://www.hotscooterrental.com/ was what I came up with when looking for it but that's not it..... Honestly don't remember what the place was called. Tiny kiosk like shop with a parking lot. It was just south of this place on the main drag along the beach tho.

^ That place has a CBR600 for rent as well.
