Michelin Pilot Activ or Bridgestone Battlax for a Ninja 500r

Hey guys,

So I'm new in the scene and got a hand me down ninja 500r. If I get a good month in of riding before the end of the season, my cousin says I should replace my rear tire. Right now he's mix and matched it with a fairly new Michelin Pilot Activ on the front and a worn out Bridgestone Battlax.

Question is, is it good to mix and match or should I get a Michelin rear tire? I've read some varying opinions on these two. Which tire should I buy?

Thanks!

Front and rears should always match. Moro tires have unique compounds, heat cycles, profiles, and many other technical features that effect handling.

The Activ is a great tire for that bike for everyday use. Buy one for the back to match the front and you're set. They're super cheap (at Pete's anyways).
