I think it was at Carters Marine in Port Credit that the owner told me of a propeller he brought in for a guy's outboard.

When the guy came in he opened the box and pulled out the prop. As he was handling it one of the blades broke off.

Can you imagine if he put the thing on the boat and the blade dropped off and couldn't be recovered. "Honest, I never hit anything."
 
I have a friend that is a tool designer at Magna... so metallurgy comes up often in conversation.
He named this alloy: Chinese Monkey metal.
I like that.
