Me VS. Big *** crow

While bombing along Warden Ave. northbound to lake simcoe I see a massive black crow in the road eating some goodies. As I got closer, he took off going the same direction as me then all of a sudden turns around and is coming at me!! I put my head down and took the hit, off the helmet, then shoulder then leg. I was expecting some awful carnage all over me but luckily no splatter. Wow those birds are substantial. Looked back to see him thrashing about on the shoulder of the road. Holy *****, I'm happy it wasn't a Canadian goose!

Watched a documentary on crows recently, they can recognize faces and are known to hold grudges for years. Part of the documentary was a scientist proving that crows will then pass that information down to their offspring. Maybe that crow had run ins with other motorcyclists and hates them, and just associates helmet = evil

I wish my life was as exciting as yours.

Really? ?????? That's pretty cool yet scary

I HAVE taken a goose in the head riding my sled at 110. Just about threw me off the sled and dazed me a bit.

I saw that crow documentary too, they're damn smart! Would actually be cool to have as a pet.
We were standing at attention on parade practice yesterday, had a couple crows flying around and one of them wouldn't caw, but made a sound like a cell phone buzzing. Few of us were laughing but trying to hold it in and that just makes it even worse lol.

At Cayuga a few weeks ago a rider nailed a bird at the end of the front stretch (almost full speed) and it hit his chest, a bit to the right.
He said the bird basically exploded. There was blood and feathers all over his leather suit. Kinda gross.

In native American medicine, the crow and the raven are seen as shape-shifters. Both the crow and raven can move one eye at a time in any direction. The crow is seen as a messenger from the "other side" (from the dead). Native American's see animals in people. A medicine man may see crow in you, therefore you have "crow medicine." Two things. I hope you turned back and killed it. And two, I would say a prayer, a native prayer if I were you. Killing a black-bird (crow, raven) is seen as "bad medicine"... a sacrilege.

Lucky it wasn't a loon. A loon would have taken your head off.

Cool. Didn't need to turn on National Geographic to learn something today. Thanks for sharing.

That is pretty amazing. I had a seagull fly onto the windscreen of my car once, just bird spit left.

Most amazing thing was Fabio, that guy took a bird to the face while riding a roller coaster and it didn't even phase him at all. It just exploded.
