It looks like they used a very different turbo setup on Maxxforce and reduced HP by ~60% from Ford version. Same torque though. I have no idea whether those changes improved on the 6.4 issues.Don’t know anything about that engine by that name but a quick google search and it’s the 6.4 Turbo diesel out of Fords from 2008-2010. I’d stay away. Those year Ford diesel’s were nothing but expensive headaches.

OP, are you trying to sell a Maxxforce that is giving you issues or are you looking at a new RV with one in it?
Damn, RV's make bike insurance look cheap. Good luck with your search.looking at buying one, it's a 2011 tiffan alergro breeze 28rb. i'm trading in a c class

Cheap bastards. If raw fuel is required in the exhaust stream for regen, they should just stick an injector there. It was mostly related to emissions. If you deleted and tuned them from new they weren’t terrible. I’m probably going to butcher this so don’t quote it. The way it was explained to me from memory the regen process to clean the diesel particulate filter on the 6.4 only used the 7 and 8 cylinder to send unburnt fuel directly to the exhaust to burn it out. This washed the cylinder walls and you were in for a engine replacement.
There was a number of other issues as well but that was a big money problem. EGR coolers, head gaskets, and other odds and ends.
You may want to do some more research. The Maxxforce and ford seem to be siblings (almost twins). The maxxforce Is an international engine it replaced the ford engine

That should have been a big maxxforce that had almost nothing in common with this one. That being said, if the company gives grief to a fleet, imagine how little help an end user would get.Had a class 7 tractor I drove for a period of time at work with a Maxforce. The thing had more days in the shop than it did on the road. Fleet HQ apparently had strong words with Navistar over the debacle trying to claim lemon law on them. They're all gone from the fleet now and it left such a bad taste in the companies mouth that they've never bought another International tractor since.
Take that as you will coming from a company with thousands of pieces of equipment.

I've heard those are excellent engines
