Rescued a nearly full canister of MPS gas from the haz waste at the restore. Can I just use my regular propane torch head?

I always use a larger Mapp torch. I also use the larger head on propane cylinders so maybe you can get away with propane head on Mapp. I've never tried.

Edit:
Given how similar Mapp and propane are these days, I would just use your existing torch.

Agreed, the old MAPP had a lot more heat than the new. I've used propane torches on anything they fit.

I'm not sure of the reason for the change

MAP-pro is a fuel gas composed of only propylene and propane. Therefore, the key difference between MAPP gas and MAP-pro gas is that MAPP gas is mainly composed of methylacetylene, propadiene and propane molecules, whereas MAP-pro gas contains propylene and propane only.Jan 2, 2023
