A man has been airlifted to Toronto after a motorcycle collision in Innisfil Saturday morning.

Police believe the man failed to properly navigate a turn on the northbound Hwy. 400 exit ramp to Innisfil Beach Rd., said OPP
Sgt. Dave Woodford. The motorcyclist, 40, travelled off the roadway and crashed into a highway sign at about 9:45 a.m., he said.

The man was initially taken to Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie, Woodford said. He was later airlifted to Sunnybrook Hospital in critical condition.

The ramp where the collision occurs will likely remain closed until about 12:30 p.m., Woodford said.

I was at the Georgian College residence and saw an ambulance sitting at the RVH pad likely waiting for the medivac. Went down to Royal Distributing in Innisfil and only saw the accident when I was leaving going 400 SB. Bike was on its side in the grass between the exit and the highway with 4 OPP cruisers and two tow trucks. Looked like they had their distance measuring gun out on the tripod, so I assume they were doing some serious investigation. Not too sure on what goes on when there is an accident like this.

400 NB was backed up / bunched up all the way from Innisfil Beach Road to Highway 9 where I got off.

Its different seeing it in person as compared to just reading it on here or the news. GWS rider.

GWS rider..

That ramp can be a tricky one, It's sharper then it seems to be when you come up on it.

I was on the 400NB and it was backed up to newmarket, took some back roads and got back on right at Innisfil Beach road and as mentioned there were alot of police cars and this was around 11:30am

Drove past it sb just after it happened. To see that he's alive is a relief, the bike looked mangled.Gws rider.

gws rider. I too passed by the scene heading southbound on my way from the cottage. Only caught a glimpse as Southbound was travelling at highway speeds still. But my thoughts went out to the rider when I saw the bike on its side.
