M2 Exit exam

Hi

I got my M2 license from centennial college about 4 years ago. Since then I have been riding a Vespa and never worried about getting my M license.
However, I just realized that M2 will expire in a month. I would to like keep my M2, since I cant pass M with my Vespa. I am only paying $31 on insurance.

Is there anyway, I can just take M2 exam again? or do i have to start from the beginning with a written test?
Also is it possible to take drivetest on a weekend at centennial college or some other exam center.

Thanks.

Did a google search and came across this:

http://www.youmotorcycle.com/m2-exit-test-for-125cc-motorcycles-or-150cc-scooter-in-ontario.html

According to what I read there, skimming through I read this

  • “Hey Lisa, Yes, RTI has a specific course and test route for people in this category. We can put someone on a 150cc scooter through their M2-exit course and test and they will have a full M license upon passing. We call this our “non-highway” course, but it’s exactly the same course as our regular M2-exit for larger displacement motorcycles, only the expressway portion has an 80km/h speed limit. Here is a link to the website: http://www.ridertraining.ca/courses_strategies.html Kelly should call RTI and identify wanting to take an M2-exit course on a 150cc scooter. Barb.”So there you go, they can get the full m with RTI.

Thanks, thats great.

@sameer also check iirc Oshawa or Cambridge (sorry I don’t recall exactly, it was posted a while ago) MTO
The office isn't near a 400 highway so only has 80kmh road route.
Only suggesting as you may need more options with only 1 month to go.

Oshawa test takes you on the 401.

Somebody throw me a bone here....
I figured it wasn't Oshawa, but for the life of me can't recall.

@sameer Cornwall, maybe?
Also, you could get the LM which iirc is a limited speed motorcycle license. Not sure if you can upgrade to full M though. Here is a link to drivetest centres:

The Lindsay DriveTest centre doesn't have anything over 80kph in the vicinity. Popular with the kids taking their G2 exits because of that.

Thanks everyone for all your input. I think I am going to apply for LM, becasue it doesnt expire like M2.

If you're OK with scooters, otherwise you'll need to retest if you ever get anything larger.

Wonderings post seems the most promising. If you're going for the test, might as well get the M and ride whatever. Good luck.

I don't believe a Vespa qualifies as a limited speed motorcycle.

Without a label, you can identify a limited-speed vehicle, if it is electric or gas powered and has:
  • a maximum speed of 70 km/hour
  • an automatic transmission
  • an engine size of 50 cubic centimetres or less
  • a “step through” design between the seat and the handlebars

I was under the impression that the LM would apply to up to 150 cc step through.

M2 vs LM - you can't compare these. The "L" is a designation attached to the M class, and can apply to both M2 or M. Therefore you could have an M2(L) or an M(L) vs. M2 or M (full speed implied by lack of designation). From what I read there from RTI, they're doing a test for full speed motorcycles, but the two expressway sections are in 80kmh zones (Conestoga College has (had?) a route like that too). You end up with the same result, but you don't have to worry about whether your vehicle can go 100kph.
You only get the "L" designation if you take the test on a limited speed motorcycle - for which the examiner will not do the highway portion of the M2 Exit examination.

If your bike can't do 100km you shouldn't be able to get a full unrestricted M class. ..it should be limited speed.
Not saying it doesn't happen but man really...

Rent a bike that can do hey speeds.
Orangeville does full G class in 80 zones (not sure if they do M class at all) because of their roads. I do know that if you are applying to be a cop and they see you took your test in Orangeville and you aren't from Orangeville you better have a good excuse and I think they did additional drive testing.
