M1 to M2 inusrance question

Hi

Just wondering, if i get a bike insured with an M1 license, then subsequently pass the M2 a month or 2 later, will my insurance premium drop or stay the same?

Sorry if this question has been asked before

When I went from M1 to M2 I did the M1 exit course at Centennial College. I told my insurance company and they gave me approx. $150 - $200 premium discount. Not sure if this is still offered or if they expect you to take the training course now. My understanding is that as long as it is an accredited course e.g. RTI, College courses etc. Also don't forget you can write off the course as a Tuition credit on your taxes if you take the course at an official College. The course almost paid for itself. This was over 5 years ago so I'm sure if the above is still accurate.

If you are asking if the premium goes down as soon as you get your M2 if you went to get the M2 through the MTO. I am not sure.

I insured my bike with M1 first.
When I got my M2 I called them hoping I get some discount off.
They told me the rate stays but it's really good for me that I did the course.
The second year dropped a lot tho. Went down from 1000 to 650 a year.
There is insurance companies out there that don't care your riding course and then those ones who won't talk to u without M2.
I think ur best bet is calling around.
Or go on Td insurance website and get a quote. Put M1 first and do a second with M2.
U get the email in seconds with your yearly quotes.
