M Test in Bancroft ONT

I have my M test booked for early oct and was wondering if anyone has done their M test in bancroft and if so any tips on route, time to do the test etc ?

I would imagine that would be very simple. No heavy traffic areas, the downtown core is, well, small. Nice twisty roads outside of Bancroft, with some tight twists, but nothing unmanageable when taken at a respectable and safe speed.

Watch out for deer or other wild life.

Tip #1 Bring your own ear buds, the ones they have are missing the foam/rubber bit and are like jamming a knife in your ear.

Route is fairly basic as there is no "highway". Straight through town up the main st. with a few lane changes followed by an emergency stop and clear the bike routine, then your finished.

Tip #2 Wear some warm gear, as its a little chilly up here in the mornings ;)

As wonderings stated above, there are a few nice roads to go and celebrate you new license on too.

Good luck!!!

" But drivers who fear they wouldn’t pass their tests in Toronto say their instructors sell them on an easier road test outside the GTA."

I'm going on a limb here and saying the majority of people that take their exams outside their normal driving area fall into this category. These are the type of people that shouldn't be on the road to begin with.

I live about an 1.5hr south of bancroft and my m2 runs out the same day i was able to book. They were all booked up in my area and that was soonest i could get in.

You may really be going out a limb. You think most people that choose to take a test outside an area they are already comfortable with do it because they'll be more confident? I get your point and agree that it's likely some would do it to avoid heavy traffic, but I think "majority" may be pushing it. Most of my (much) younger siblings have gone through the graduated system, and some of them took their G2 exit tests far from their "normal driving area" - in much heavier traffic (M2 Exit, of course, they did here in the GTA, WAY outside their rural driving area). Why? Mainly because of scheduling. It's much easier to get a test scheduled where there are fewer people on a waiting list.
