My girlfriend got me into riding. I was always interested in bikes but I never really seriously considered getting licensed or purchasing one. She wrote the M1 last year with a friend but never got around to taking a course or anything. She mentioned wanting to write it again this year and I was turning 30 so I thought what the heck it will be a nice gift to myself and I can park for free at work.
I wrote my M1 in march, took a course a couple weeks later and fell in love. I don't know why I didn't do this years ago. We both bought CBR250's in April and picked them up on my birthday. I did not think of the logistics of getting the bike home so my first ride in traffic ended up being an ambitious 40km ride home across the city. I survived, obviously, and managed to get rid of the fear of riding in traffic my first day. It has been a blast. I am now commuting to work downtown and it is the best part of my day.
Anyway I have been reading this forum since I decided to get my M1 months ago and thought I would finally say hello.
