Lucas Oil supplier Toronto-GTA

Anyone got a source to buy Lucas Oil in Toronto?

I know CT has some of it not sure exactly if it is the exact type I am looking for.

I was planning to switch over to Lucas oil this spring, but lack of supply it might be hard to find or get. I'm not due to switch oil yet but rather get ahead of finding if I can do this or go another direction.

Harley riding / mechanic friend swears by Mobil 1 fwiw.
My Harley mechanic uses Lucas Oil and has the exact same bike as me, it just purrr's.
He also uses a additive from Lucas which smooths out the engine noise.
I've also looked for Mobil 1 synth 20-50 not easy to find either.

Where does your Harley Mechanic get it? Can you get some from him?

I would have but he is having a hard time getting his own supplies, so he is holding onto what he has.

I have yet to be convinced that Lucas makes anything other than snake oil. Seems (to me) that the stronger the marketing, the crappier the product is.

Most auto parts stores sell Lucas. They won't stock bike oil. but they can order it.

... and just so you know, the oil supplement doesn't "smooths out the engine noise". It just masks that noise.

This WAS my opinion, till I started using it.
A buddy is sponsored by Lucas.
I'll take Lucas oil over Amzoil ANY day of the week.
I swear by Lucas hipo gear lube, the best I have found.
The engine oil tests out well, as good as anything else we have seen.

... but. yeah, the mechanic in a can thing kinda grinds on me too... STP, Lucas oil treatment, Seafoam, etc etc: The secret/active ingredient is parrafin wax, basically works the same putting saw dust in the crank case.

I'm not a H-D person ... but it does seem that H-D themselves are really insistent on that hard-to-find 20w50 viscosity. What happens if you use a synthetic 15w50? It should be in the same viscosity range in a warmed-up engine. I believe you do not have an engine-oil-lubricated wet clutch to be concerned about.

Brief searching with Google suggests no issue with using Mobil 1 15w50, and the conspiracy theorists suggest that H-D only specifies 20w50 so that you have to use "their" stuff instead of what can be obtained at Walmart for half the price, while actually being the same stuff with a different label.

The OP in that says: "I took the oil course on the site. It recommends use of lowest possible viscosity of oil to diminish wear on startup. This is because it takes longer for higher viscosity oil to flow freely.".

... and no one argues that blatantly UNTRUE dangerous statement.
What is the point of having an in depth, technical discussion with people who don't know which way is up?
Bob the oil guy' propaganda site is NOT the place to educate yourself in oil technologies.

Still doesn't change that good quality properly selected engine oil, correct viscosity for the application, doesn't need a "supplement" like what Lucas markets.

The Lucas engine oil (on its own) is probably fine. But I haven't seen or read anything that would indicate that it is so much better than anything else as its marketing department suggests. Royal Purple is another marketing-hype product. And I don't trust Amsoil's self-promoted, self-specified tests, either.

Find out which one exactly. The CT by me has good stock on 20w50...

But if it’s this one you need, then only 3 bottles in stock (if the inventory numbers are correct)...

I can't even remember what I'm using right now. Been using Castrol dino in all my bikes for years. Zero issues. I think I'm using Lucas or Harley Davidson in my trans case. Any SAE rated oil of the correct weight will do.

Mask, smooth, choose your words it did make a difference.

Yeah I saw something like this recently, kinda put some doubt in my head, will look into it further.

HD guys are really are one of kind sometimes. Some of them can be "out" there. I would be interested in using a different viscosity range, but I rather just stick to what is recommend and spend time riding.

It probably hardly matters what you use, in reality.
Yes, probablly, I've been relatively fine using HD's Synth 3. It's easliy available and the pricing isn't too far off other synth brands.
I just wanted to get the ball rolling on Lucas before it comes time to do the oil change.

Thanks Robbo, I'll contact my mechanic after the week-end to find out the specifics and keep this in mind.

If anyone else has a source for Lucas Oil please let me know.
