Low cost rc copter or plane?

There are some remote helicopter toys you can buy at stores like "as seen on tv" (theres one at square one). There are in your price range and are easy to fly to just have fun with. actual hobby r/c helicopters are usually $300+ and are very hard to fly(mych harder than planes) so if youre getting him something to bug your mom with in the kitchen, get a cheap one. and planes are not good because while theyre easier to fly, they need a big range and out-door which with winter coming and windy days, you cant really fly (unless you have a bog expensive model and youre experienced). Get a toy helicopter. or check ebay, you can find them for cheap.

this is a pretty fun one. its a little more advanced but easy enough. search the name online and you might find it cheaper as well. also with this one, you can buy part (as they will break on any heli) from ebay.

I've had a few good remote control helicopters from Canada Computers in the $30-40 range. They are small, indoor ones. Nothing fancy, but they can take a bit of a beating

haha I remember my first mini-copter. I flew it straight into the ceiling from take off and shattered the rear prop. Good thing it came with a spare. I broke that one about 10 min later.

The AR Drone or other quad-copter would be neat but I think those start at $200 or so.

There was a place in keswick that were selling the toy ones that you can fly around the house for $15. I think it was called LW or something, cant remember sorry.

I don't see why not. As long as it's light so you can also fit it with a camera and post the resulting video here for our amusement :)

$280 on Black Friday but normally $320+. Buddy at work has one. Super cool until he put it into the only light post in the whole parking lot. So far he has gotten 3 good flights out of it. $100 a flight lol. It doesn't take a beating well.

haha damn that sucks. Maybe your friend should save up for one of these:

Sayal has the cheapies at competative prices but marginal performance. A buddy is into the serious stuff but spends serious cash for awesome performance. He strapped my GoPro to it and did some neat filming but I think he's in over a grand for his latest.

Oh man, drive by shootings are going to get interesting.

Thinking of getting my dad a low cost rc plane or helicopter for Xmas, I've seen some that can be controlled by a cell phone and have video recording/transmitting. Are there any worth having in the $50 range? If so where do I find them?

Did you end up getting him one, and if so - was he able to control it OK or did he end up destroying the chandeliers ;)
