Lost Speeding Ticket, haven't heard from the city

So I just found a speeding ticket from a month ago I stashed away and forgot about. I haven't received the usual notice of Conviction to remind me.
Did I just get lucky and they forgot aboout it?
what should I do? Could this potentially bite me in the bhutt?
