lost my phone this morning

in a courthouse of all places. i brought it in with me and i put it down at a table to fill out a slew of forms and i lost track of it somehow :facepalm:

well considering the simcard is gone with the phone..

i have to buy a new phone full pop.. im a year into a 3 year contract and i just lost a blackberry bold. only thing i am concerned about are the pics and vids of my gf on the memory card and the fact that they could easily put two and two together and figure her number/emails out etc..

called bell had the account disabled or whatever, not sure if that means it disables the phone or not. bleh

was wearing stupid board/swim shorts with no front pockets. im an idiot for bringing it in with me in the first place.

needless to say i am getting rid of any shorts i have with no pockets. a man needs pockets.

if your phone was password protected it will wipe the phone clean if they enter the wrong code 10 times. Both my phone and SIM card are password protected. I alwo use blackberry protect so I can locate it if lost and wipe the phone remotely if need be. The reason why I asked if it uses a sime card is because you can easlitly get a phone from craiglist or factory direct and buy a new sim card and away you go, you dont have to sign a new contract.

Not a good position to be in, thats for sure. The iPhone has a nice setup for cases like this using the "find mind iphone" app. You can use the gps to locate the device, to lock the device, send a message to the device so if the person who found it is honest can contact you, or to completely wipe the device, removing everything, pictures, apps, emails, etc.

You can find good phones on kijiji or ebay for lower then buying flat out from your provider, and usually they are unlocked so you could move wherever you want when your contract is up.
