Has anyone used any apps or websites that allow you to plan a trip in multiple stages? I want to start planning for my (mostly) cross country trip this summer and I was hoping for something somewhat easy and accessible to use. I'm hoping for the following features:

- Online sharing of route information, probably through a website
- Gas stations/food/places to stay
- Possibly attractions, but this isn't super important

I'm envisioning something like Google Docs or Microsoft OneNote. Maps, notes, gas stations, best routes, etc.

Thanks!

Google Maps should work pretty well. You can draw routes along roads and make notes on each, search for and save hotels/gas stations/attractions with the map itself, and share everything with a URL. And if you cache the maps for offline use you can still browse them on a phone even if you don't have a data connection.

See the things for the US thread to get cheap cell coverage then it's easy. We used a combination of GoogleMaps and ForeverMap successfully in Europe.
We would put the the stages in favourites so easy to access later.

A master map on a lappie would be a good idea - save a map from GoogleMaps and you can add, share and modify.

All the apps have "What's nearby" for gas etc.

Good apps are MotionXGPSdrive for excellent voice nav....cheap and works really well but you need that data connection.
Particularly good for getting through cities.
UrbanSpoon for eats.
