Looking for newbie friendly routes!

Hey everyone,

Following this thread, I ended up with this bike. Now that I'm fully geared and ready to go, I want to get as much riding in as possible before snow starts falling. For now, I've just been riding around my neighbourhood but that's quickly getting boring. I was wondering if anyone has any newbie friendly routes? I am located in Markham, near Middlefield and Steeles, if that helps.

By newbie friendly I mean relatively low traffic, non-highway (although I'm getting my M2 in a few weeks!) Also, if anyone else is in the area and wants to join in, feel free to PM me! I am really only free to ride on weekends for now because I'm not commuting with the bike, and it is dark by the time I get home.
 
If you have an iPhone, there is an app called "Greatest Road" that maps out non-busy routes for riding. Haven't used it myself yet, but its on my phone for when I try it out!
 
I am not very familiar with Markham roads, but usually the further up north or out east you get, the better the roads get. One thing to watch is for fallen leaves on the roads. When wet, those are worse than ice - very slippery, and there are tons of leaves on some roads now.
 
I've explored Markham a bit n I can show you a few sweet roads that run the border of Pickering. Really, any road down there is pretty sweet. PM me if u wanna go for a ride. Hopefully we get lucky for another bearable day.

Yes! I'm down! Just waiting for some sun, it's like every weekend has been raining since I bought the bike T_T
 
lol same, I just bought my ninja 250 and I wanna squish a few more weeks out of it before I store it away. I'll be in north york next weekend as well and I'll probably be up for a ride if weather permits. PM and maybe we can all go for a ride, I'd like to get to know the area too!

Also, just to reiterate: it'll have to be M1 friendly.

I don`t know many routes around Markham to be honest but i`m down to ride saturday. I`ll make it there and maybe someone else will have some routes..hint hint Dayao..lol
