Hey, I'm new here and am hoping i can get some help. I just got my second yzf750 and want to build a street fighter. I found a 99 r1 motor for cheep and going to get it tonight. anyone ever done this? (long shot)

The R1 engine and the YZF750 engine are from two different design families. The engine mount locations will be nowhere close and the overall dimensions will be nowhere close. This ain't no '69 Chevelle, and that engine ain't no Chevy small block.
FZR1000 is almost a bolt in if I remember correctly

Top engine mounts will not line up, but there's enough meat on the existing ones to weld/modify new ones to match the FZR heads.
If you use the 02/03 R1 motor (the first fuel injected one) the rear motor mounts are close and will need little no modification. The front motor mounts also will be fine you just need to create some steel mounting brackets with new holes for the head. It's been done a couple times before so I looked into it since I really wanted to try it. Anyways I ended up buying a house so I put that and few projects I had in mind aside and decided to just focus on my EFI project for my 400.

Hey thanks for that. Do you know where there is some info on that. I'm happy that it will fit. Would love to go EFI.
