Looking for Experienced Rider

The 250 is the better bike for you IMNSHO :D
The weight difference is only 20 lb and you are lots tall enough. Seat height on earlier Ninjas is 29.3" while the CBR is an inch taller. Current Ninaj is the same.

Superb ride for you for years. ......as with many but the diehards you will outgrow the 125 and struggle in traffic whereas with your weight you could go anywhere for many years on the 250.

It's a great mix of docile at low sped with unending top end.

The 13 hp on the CBR requires you to constantly be shfiting gears - and I mean constantly while the 250 has enough low end with your weight to be far more forgiving.

I'd surely be considering a used Ninja - lower seat - basically they are all the same bike for years - Kawi owns the category - and tons of support for them.

Here's a good deal

and it's even been lowered and barely broken in.....

$3200 with 1300 km...and late model .....right on the money for your rider profile and much fun.

You are on the correct track looking for an experienced rider to help you out but caveat emptor with the dealers..most are not your friend.

For what's it's worth - 43 years riding experience and my son owned a 250 Ninja.

I am a petite girl (110 and 5'7) so im sticking with the CBR 125 since the 250 would be too heavy if I dropped it

Nope, you just need to know how to pick it up :) Here's a video of a woman picking up a much heavier cruiser

Wow - thanks gentlemen/ladies for the response -

I am a petite girl (110 and 5'7) so im sticking with the CBR 125 since the 250 would be too heavy if I dropped it - now to start - can anyone recommend me to a good dealership? Or, does anyone have any recommendations to a good dealership? The one I went to - I just got ignored.

I would suggest buying used from a dealership. I got my SV650 from Motorcycle Superstore aka Cycleworld in Scarborough. They can be tough to haggle with but not unreasonable. I got $500 off the price of my bike, free alarm, no taxes on a helmet, licensing/registration free and safetyed/certified for free (got a brand new set of tires free).

Buying used is really not as bad as some may make it sound. If you get it from a dealer then you know it's going to be serviced properly.

Yep - don't let weight deter you - it's knowledge and it really is not a given you will drop your ride as you sound sensible.

Used from a dealer is not a bad approach since you have to pay HST anyways these days.
Good luck - keep us posted....

Okay so one of the GTA members messaged me about his bike (CBR 125) - I wanted to take a look at it but I would really prefer if one of the more experienced riders accompanied me - is anyone willing? Message me if you can

O - I read the entire thread - most suggested a 250 - I wanted to look at the CBR anyway since it was the bike that I learned to ride so I guess you can say I have a sentimental attachment to the CBR
