Looking for a trustworthy mechanic east of the DVP

Hello all, I'm a new rider, and have had a bike for only a couple months. It is used, and has recently stopped starting. I've charged the battery with a trickle charger (which as worked in the past) but that is no longer working. When I try and start, the engine turns over, but just one grab.

The mechanic I've gone to before is CycleWerx at Bloor and Dundas, and they were great, but I was hoping to find one closer to my house, so I don't have to tow it all the way across town.

Anyone have any good recommendations around the DVP and Gerrard?

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like your battery is toasted, easy to test.

Where east of the DVP are you? I could take a look Im at Vic Park + Danforth.

I would recommend Daniel at Heritage Auto. Not super far from ya, and the guy is an electrical genius!

Can you bump start the bike? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PXl3RnBWbE0)

Can you jump start the bike? (Note: From a car with the car engine turned off)

Let's see if we can get you going before you having to tow to a mechanic just to tell you your battery is toast.

BTW, what bike?
Kill switch off?
In neutral?

For the closest mechanic (with a good reputation) see www.109cycle.com . They are at Warden/Danforth

they are great, actually not as expensive as most dealers too.

call glen @ fs motorcycle (google) he has best pricing in city for parts/access.

To test your battery connect jumper cables to a car, car off (jump start). Start your bike. If it starts, you need a new battery. If it does not start, look elsewhere.

Batteries get old and then will not take a charge, no matter you trickle charge it. This gets worse when it gets cold. Batteries are a consumable item, so it is common to need a new one. How old is your battery?

Get a new battery, worth the $$ n hassel. If u still have problems after the new battrey, then let us know and we may be able to help out.
+1 Flying Squirrel, a bit tricky to get to his place tho, but I think he can ship the unit to your place a cpl of $$.
