Looking for a new seat ...

Haven't heard of Triple K and don't doubt that they are good. If you want an alternative that is closer to the GTA, you can try ED Motorcycle Seats. Their business is based on selling incredibly comfortable aftermarket seats for Yamaha products but they can do anything. Small company of enthusiasts that knows what a motorcyclists wants in their seat.

For a relatively inexpensive (200$) seating solution, consider the 'AirHawk-R' seat pad/cushion. I used the AirHawk-R last season and highly recommend it!

Provides hours of monkey-butt free riding. When you do start to feel an MB coming on however, just remove the AirHawk and ride on the factory seat. A change is as good as a rest. After an hour or so... throw the AirHawk back on.

Can be used on most factory saddles (use on your next PAJ!!!). Perfect for the rider with multiple bikes. Maintain your ride's originality... A win-win product!

Ride on 'Air'... your butt will thank you!!!

Thanks. Just fired them off an e mail. In any event, it's good to have options on this side of the border!

Thanks. Thought of that but, for another $100 or so more, it looks like (hopefully) I can get a decent seat that won't require a comfort fix. I have a friend who has an Airhawk (not sure which model), and he does like it; if I can't find a new seat, will undoubtedly ask to try it out.

Try a Beadrider -
Thanks. It's an option I had considered, having read good things about the Beadrider. "Butt" methinks the issue is a seat that's improperly shaped to support my olde arse.

Ultimate Seats? They are always at the bike shows. Not sure if they make for your bike, but worth a look.

I wnet through 4 seats on my Wee before settling on the Terry Adcox group buy but no way $200 gets even close to a good shaped seat.
Even with the Adcox - I still use the Beadrider....have used it on my Daylong as well.

Yeah, Tim at Triple K put a gel insert in my stock seat for me. Reasonably priced and did the job. I spent tons of money on a Corbin seat and hated it, never softened up and I had a sore butt every time I rode more than an hour. Will never go that route again although I know there are some good seats out there I don"t want to spend that kind of money and end up unsatisfied like with the Corbin. He should be at the show in Toronto this weekend, take your seat with you.

I agree with the beadrider approach... or sheepskin (never tried sheepskin, but have read a lot of positive reviews).

I've tried the stock, sargent, corbin, and seat concepts. For me the ideal combination that I've tried is the sargent with a bead rider. The bead rider on the stock seat of the 2012+ DL650 didn't work well due to the shape of the seat.

It is absolutely amazing that sitting on beads can solve a comfort issue, but it really does. I've done up to 18 hour days with the combination I have -- and my butt was the least of my worries at that point.

I used the Beadrider with the Terry Adcox on the trip out west 22 days.....about 2/3 of the way in I tried without the Beadrider.
2 hours later I was aching...the BR stayed on the rest of the way home.
I like that I can switch bikes...it will go to Australia with me for the KLR....useful farkle.

On the CBF I find riding half the day with it and half without seems best. 5 seconds to remove it/put it on and the ceramic that I got is very durable. ( could not be wood due to Aussie regulations ).

Where it is really great is on hot days...the air flow is excellent and you can move around on the seat instead of being stuck.

I've got a sheepskin but have not really tested it.
