Hello All,

I have a 02 ninja 250,

i did an oil change on Thursday and rode it for awhile no problem.

On Friday during the day i only took the bike for about 10K trip, however when i got back to my bike from the store, i noticed oil leaking a small amount. I drove it and then stopped 2 min later to look again, started leaking, so i i rushed home, while i was at a light about 1K from my place i looked down and saw some steam (smoke?) coming from the bottom, i pulled over and saw it was leaking from the bottom. I did rush home, put the bike in the garage and put a white piece of paper under the bike, sure enough when i woke it it was wet.

Now today i looked at the oil glass whole on the right side of the bike and it seems to be filled... 1 drip only and and nothing as i started it and rode it around my street, however i notice the bike when it idle's at 1,000 it slowly dies off, but the bike is half warmed up and i can feel the bottom starting to really heat up.

I was hoping i could get some help, i live around the Don Mills and Steeles area.

A i can grab some beer for the help or coffee or pizza.

Thanks in advance.

Dave

does your oil drain pan nut/bolt have a crush washer, did you use the old one, or did you put in a new one ? did you tighten the nut/bolt to spec, don't over tighten or you can strip the threads, did you use a new O ring for the oil cover, did you wet it before installation (rub a bit of old oil on the O ring before installing) are those nuts holding the cover on torqued correctly ?

If you touched nothing else those would be the only 2 areas a bit of oil could be coming from, unless you broke something or hit something or you have a new issue that your not aware of...

.

Im at Vic Park + St. Clair if you want me to look at it.

I would think like gatekeeper that maybe you forgot a washer.
