I heard that Red Riders have a camp for kids but thats for max 12 yo. Appreciate any help you can give me.

thx.

Motopark does camps where you can rent the bike. At least they did before the new owner not sure now... And I'm not sure if there is a beginner style course or if it's just for the moto kids.

Sounds like motopark has stepped it up with the new owner, apparently there is a BMX track being set up this year!

moto park, camp bikes place to stay food, new begginers track and trails. and yes bmx course and paintball now.all round good time and place new owner ian hayden has stepped it up and is taking it back to former glory and then some.they have a website will all the info if you google it

I just wanted to comment that putting your kid in MX school officially makes you the most cool parent in the world. I wish my parents had let me do that as a kid. That is frickin' awesome!

There used to be a motocross camp in perrysound. It was held at the ontairo camp for the deaf and the instructor was Leno Zecca. I know they were starting a program with yamaha but this was quite a few years ago now. If your kid has thier own bike and you want them to progress and have the best week riding and socializing with other kids that ride, this is the place. I often think about my 4 summers there and it always makes smile and wish I was a kid going back for another year.

You mean Leno Zecca taught you to ride?! Pretty damn jealous dude. His 87 kx250 was the first dirt bike I sat on and have never forgotten my little meet and greet with him.

Well he helped me advance. I was riding for about 4 years previous. I got to ride his 98 kx250 when I was 14/15 and it was awsome! 140lbs hanging on for dear life. There was also an amazing track that you rode all week and no grooming since the previous race or through the week. The theory was that anyone can ride on a smooth track and you really learn to choose lines and adapt. Leno is an amazing teacher and person.

Yeah, I remember that even though there was a line up to "meet" him, he took his time with me at least. Even have a picture of it.
I would love to take the time and do a school, I feel like I would advance a bit more with some better teaching, plus I just need to loosen up a little bit.
I like Gopher Dunes for the practice days, by the end of the day the track is rough.

It was good because you got one lesson in the day and rode ALOT. Most of the learning was from riding 5 days straight for 6hrs.

http://www.cmts.org/ is the place to go.
These are the people behind the training at the camp for the deaf, and Leno worked with them.
Awesome place, awesome instructors, great gear and the train more kids than anyone else.
My only advice - dont just drop your kid off - sign up and do a day there yourself!
