Hey I currently ride a 03 FZ1 and I am finding my self get in trouble (143mph in a 55mph) in PA nice trooper let us go with a bit of cash ..am looking at VFR 800 .any thoughts ? It's to easy with my bike to get to speed with out even thinking about it your in trouble ( I know it's called control your self ) thanks
 
Yeah I mean really, you can go insane fast on anything. Time and a place........ I wouldn't downgrade unless you're looking at a whole new style of bike.
 
A VFR isn't much slower than a FZ1.

I went from an 03 FZ1 to a 2012 CBR 250 this year, i am trying hard to get a speeding ticket, but no luck so far.
 
How much did it cost you? Where were you caught? What were the full consequences? Details details... I been ripping PA too. Always wondered what's the worst they can do to me.

I was gonna suggest the EX250, however a CBR250 would achieve the same thing!

I'm on a VFR now and I'm a big fan, it still has some balls to it and its so comfortable it blows me away how long I can ride it for

ANY bike can get you in trouble with speeding... its how you handle your throttle. Just because you have what you think is a fast bike, doesnt mean you will always get tickets.. and what you think is a slower bike wont.

we were in allegheny just finished 666 goin down 948 south the trooper was surprised we stopped we joked for a wile he went to his car came back told us the cost (we hinted he acsepted )and we all drove away happy. He was being nice . Could have been just as bad as here. I love the roads throw the park.lots of twisties .where do you go in PA
 
OP, have you thought about an unfaired/naked bike? Does not have to be stodgy. Triumph Speed Triple, Ducati Monster, upcoming Yamaha FZ-09; all exciting sporty bikes. One thing about riding a naked bike is that you can "feel" the speed. This works for me anyways.
 
So, its impossible to ride a fast bike at slower speeds.? Try growing up. And i dont believe the cop-cash story.
 
i got a faster bike to slow down. exercising discipline was the next challenge
