Hello all, once again here for some help. I'm about to buy 2009 Ninja 250 and i'm going to be shopping for insurance. And, before I begin my actual question, here is my bio.

I'm 22 and about to turn 23 in 4 months. I got my G1 when I was 16 and have my full G license. I've had my drivers license for 6 years now; no major tickets.

I just did my MSF course and waiting my minimum 60 days to turn my envelope in to get my M2. What i'm looking for, just like others is, cheap insurance.

Could you guys post insurance company names and brokers that you have had good experience with; and gotten low rates with? Just post here and will contact them asap. I'm really sorry if this has been discussed before.

Thank You

hi guys, thought i'd post up on here, instead of opening a new thread.

just wondering, i'm looking for insurance for this riding season, and am looking for an insurance company that will allow me to pay on a monthly basis, going to purchase a new bike, but after 6 months or so i'm going to get rid of it, so don't wanna be paying anything after it's gone...

are they insurance companies that i can pay monthly on, or are they all mostly pro-rated, if so, which companies do that.

thanks

Whether you pay for the full year up front or pay monthly, Motorcycle insurance cost more in the summer and less in the winter.

For easy math. If you pay $1200/year for insurance and pay monthly payments of $100/month.
If you rode 6 months from May till October you would have used 80% of the premiums for the year and only paid $600, So when you cancel you would owe them $360.

Look at the stickies in this section for what to know when cancelling motorcycle insurance.

If you want any numbers with substance, you're going to have to call the brokers. Your particulars are going to decide your rate, not recommendations by others. There are a few threads on the forum which list Statefarm and Jevo brokers. Look for those, or head up to their website, search, and call brokers in your area.

With the exception of having my M2 for 2 years (1 year seems to be the magic number), my relevant information looks similar to yours. I went with TDMM @1250/yr. Just check their site and call their offices.

Good luck!

Thank you, but this only lists few companies. I will definitely check those out. But how about the brokers? It takes too long to find one that will give decent rate. So I ask you people to help me with this. Thanks

Thanks, but are there any other third party insurance companies other than the listed ones?

There are lots of insurance companies that provide motorcycle insurance. There are over 100 insurance companies providing auto insurance in Ontario, and a good majority of these will also write non-sport bikes. For sport bikes your options are limited to State Farm and TD/Meloche/Primmum. The companies listed in the sticky thread describe the most popular motorcycle insurers and help you understand what their target markets are.

Call for some quotes -- it's a painless procedure.
