Light weight Battery

I guys, well I'm in the market for a battery, as it's for my track bike i'm looking at something Lighter, anyone have any recomandations?????? Looking at Shorai

Look at ballistic also, they weigh about 2-2.5 lbs compared the a factory battery that's about 9 lbs

Last year's experiences and in talking with various folk, I would recommend staying away from Antigravity and Ballistic batteries. They're not lasting a season. The only one I can recommend is Full Spectrum Power, which Bluestreak sells and Z1 CycleTech just picked up because of issues with the aforementioned.

I just bought a new Ballistic battery. This is super light and small. I was able to just cut the foam that came in the box so that it fits in nice and tight.

I hope you have better luck with it than everyone else I know. I don't mean that sarcastically, I hope you do.

In every case, they get to the point where they will only keep a cold-starting charge for a couple days. And not much of one, at that. A *lot* of race teams have gone back to standard batteries, I'm told.

My Full Spectrum P2 fired up my high-compression GSX-R no problem yesterday, and I bought it in 2010. It's never been on a charger. *shrug*

Ive been swapping one shorai between my track bike and street bike (im too cheap to buy one for each lol) for the last two years. It has never failed to start the bike, hasnt required any charging and provides a nice drop in weight (7 lbs vs oem). Im very happy with the purchase.

I think it comes down to the battery quality used in the pack. I've not heard of Shorai dying young, but I haven't heard otherwise, either.

I put the Shorai I got from Glen at Flying Squirrel through some absolute torture, on the track and street, and it's on it's second year now, didn't charge it all winter, dropped it in the bike a few weeks ago VRUMMM fired right up!!

Love that you can use a regular battery tender on em too :)

I haven't had a single problem with Ballistic battery. Except for times when temperature droped to ~ freezing mark, but that should be expected. Even then, it took just a couple of tries to fire up the bike. +1 to Ballistic!

+1, yup, ballistic's fine, it takes longer to start at 0 degree, but after whole winter in not heated garage, start fine last weekend

My Shroai also seems to be lasting...it wasn't cheap though. I got the 14 Ah one, and it is about the size and weight of a hamster....
