light problems

I recently did an intergrated tail light and flushmount signals on my 02 cbr f4i. Everything was fine for about a month then problem 1 started......At first it was just my rear brake not triggering my brake light, hold it too soft no light, too hard no light, but like a clutch pedel on a car sweet spot and brake light is on....then the front brake lever stopped working from time to time. I am thinking it is the brake light trigger is on its way out. does anyone know if the front and back brake levers work on the same trigger or seperate ones?
problem 2.... My headlight is becoming speratic aswell. Turn the ignition on it comes on, start the engine, more and more often the headlight blacks out. I kill the engine and start it again and the headlight usually stays on but lastnight I had to do this process 4 or 5 times for the light to stay on. My brother bought a used f4i with the headlight hooked up to a toggle switch bypassing the stock light/hi beam switch which leads me to believe this is common. Has anyone had this problem? Any suggestions on how to fix or what may be wrong with my bike would be greatly apperciated.

The brake light is controlled by individual switches at the lever and pedal. They do wear out, but it is odd that both are going south on you.

The headlamp circuit runs through a set of normally closed contacts in the start button. The idea is that the headlamp circuit is opened when the starter is engaged so there is maximum voltage available to the starter, then closed again when the button is released. These contacts are very delicate (too delicate for the amount of current they are asked to carry) and prone to arcing, pitting and carbon buildup. You may be able to clean them by disassembling the switch and spraying them with electronic contact cleaner.
