License Suspension - Helping a friend

A friend of mine got a ticket a year back ( no sticker on the plate ) and he never paid it until the license was suspended. He then went and paid the ticket a few weeks later, and paid to have his license re-instated. For insurance reasons, does he take a hit for this as an actual " License Suspension " ?. We both looked online and I couldn't find anything stating yes or no. I know if you get a DUI or racing you get an automatic suspension, just not sure if this is a different type.

I don't think administrative suspensions count against you for your driving record or insurance.

hmm, anyone with a 100% answer ?

Only way to be 100% sure would be to call the MTO Driver hotline regarding the impact on his driving record and then to call his insurance company and ask them if it counts. I've had it happen to me and it hasn't cost me anything as of my last renewal for either car or bikes (different companies for car/bikes). I can't say for certain that either insurance company re-ran my abstract from the MTO though.

Once you pay the reinstatement the suspended license charge is cleared. Iv had a few. Last one was for not buying a ticket for the viva. I didn't pay that and the bastards suspended my drivers license. All cleared up after the ticket and reinstatement fees were payed
