One bit of nice weather and they come out of hibernation. From hwy 9 to Rutherford, 4 cruisers had cars pulled over on the side of the road...jeez...4 OPP cruisers for a 15km stretch of road...

you ASSume too much....i have a clean record and have never gotten a speeding ticket, but come on! you're telling me that all of a sudden the 400 series highway has gotten so bad that in one day they catch 4 ppl in a 15 min period? and up to now everyone was an angel?

OP is right. They pick and choose their moments. Warm weather- meh - why sit in the car all day.
When the cruiser is coming up behind you on the Hwy, you never know how they'll take it when you are 10kph - 15kph over.

You're the assuming type of person. I've a clean record, but have gotten a speeding ticket. You're assuming that they're not around in the winter. Most likely they're dealing with the constant fender benders all winter, because people assume that they can drive.
Now is a good time to catch the more aggressive drivers out for their first rip after hibernation. It might make them think twice.
Check the school zones. They used to set up a couple of patrols near one school and catch people doing 70 in a 40. Then catch the same people a second time around the bend in the road.
Or more like, they know ppl are gonna be ripping it up after the warm weather, so they out to collect a bit more taxes

Although, the volunteers always have second thoughts when they get the bill, and want to shoot the messenger.
When u get a ticket for 10 over, u won't call them volunteers anymore.
Been there, done that, got the ticket. Still remember the officer's name. In fact it might have even been for 5 over. His quote was "you went by me so fast, you must have been speeding". That's not what he wrote in his notes though.
Still remember the name of the cop that gave me my last ticket, and the added bonus just-because-you're-on-a-sport-bike-and-I-don't-like-sport-bikes ticket. I remember because he got hit by a truck while standing beside his SUV on the 407 and my tickets were 11b'd on account he was unable to testify. Karma's a beotch.

sorry, what Rip!?! its farking rush our traffic, fast lane is doing 120 and the other lanes are doing 100/105.
So finally a nice clear day, best kind of weather from safety perspective to "rip it" as you so eloquent said and they wanna nab you for it. So all those "rippers" should not do in in best weather possible but in foggy, snowy, wet roads....a twisted thinking man might just come to that conclusion.
