Leaving off the Canadian certification label for US import

I wonder if there's any sense in NOT applying the Canadian certification label to my US bike until I go to sell it. Maybe it would serve as an obstacle to potential theives if they took it, but I can't see it causing me any problems as long as I own it. I have the label, I'm just wonderiing about the strict necessity of applying it right away.

Anybody has an idea?

It wouldn't stop it from being parted out or shipped out of the country. It might cause you problems in a stop, though, making someone think that you are in possession of an improperly licensed (stolen?) vehicle.

I don't think there is any means of enforcement over whether that label is in place or not.

I have such a label on my US-imported bike, and I wish I had never put it on.

The VIN is still on the US compliance label, and anyone checking if the bike was stolen would be using that.

I didn't put it on my RV or bikes from the states. Just make sure you keep the paperwork if you're ever questioned. i found I didnt have a place I could put it on the bike. Can't see how it would ever be an issue. The VIN is what is checked and the VIN would come back okay with the proper information. I wouldnt worry about it.
