Lake Drive - Jackson's Point to Eastbourne on Lake Simcoe

Hi all,

I just wanted to share some pictures from my ride yesterday along the south shore of Lake Simcoe. A friend on his Ducati Monster 796 and I on my Ducati 750ss left Brooklin Sunday morning at 7:30 and headed northeast with no real destination in mind. We hit Jackson's Point along the south shores of lake Simcoe and travelled along the shoreline on Lake drive. The road only has a posted limit of 40 km/h but the views are incredible. We were enjoying the sight of the sun rising across the lake as we passed through, stopping for some pictures. The round trip was just under 200 km and I'm definitely heading back up once the leaves begin to change. I'm sure it will be awesome. Here are the pictures:

Ha! I was up there on Sat with a friend on our bikes. Gorgeous day for a ride! We saw a lot of bikes, even a couple of Ducati's. ;)

. I ride that route all the time ( close to home) as you said slow but love the views and some amazing houses. Thx for the pics

I had never been there until Sunday morning. Maybe we can plan a ride up there some weekend in October (Sept. is a mess for me already!). It would be nice to see that scenery in the fall. Beautiful place for sure.

Is this the guy right at Willow beach, across the road? I had a bite there on our ride. Sausage on a bun, breakfast of champions (insert sausage related jokes below).

No, I've never ridden any of the roads up there. I'm not a native Ontarian (from the east coast) and have been out of bikes for about 10 years so my experience up there is nil. I'd love to do a ride but my availabillity is limited to weekends and September is a write off. Maybe we can plan something for October? I'm just throwing this out there, but does the 9th work?

Dan that could work

Alright, sounds good. We'll get in touch closer to the date to confirm. Any other riders interested???

sounds interesting, I can get into that. BTW, Lake Drive is pretty nice during bikini season too :D

So, are you guys going to Jackson's Point or Hockley in Oct? Is it Newbie friendly? Are girls allowed, or is it a boys only trip? I woudn't want to cramp your style! ;)

And before you ask, No, I won't be wearing my bikini! Well.....maybe under my gear! ;)

It may have to be by invitation only. If you play your cards right, you might get an invite ;).
