Has anyone ever ridden this road that runs north/south parallel to Kushog Lake in Minden? It branches off the 118 and connects to hwy35. Looks like a pretty twisty road, I just dont know what type of road it is. Paved, dirt, pointless???

thanks

Haven't tried that one, but Deep Bay Road is good for a quick boot while you're in the area.

just literally got back from minden and was searching up more routes and stuff. from what i saw today it seems like a majourity of the streets got repaved recently. a lot of fresh asphalt everywhere. i will upload the route once i import it from my phone to see if it matchs what the OP is talking about.

I have not been on Kushog Lake rd this year, but it is awesome! Lot's of hills and tights twists make that road one of the better ones in that whole area. It was totally fine for street bikes.

Just rode it yesterday, some debris and large rocks on road. Just avoid Em and you'll be fine.

It can be a lot of fun but it's a cottage road so you really need to be careful around some corner. Cars won't be expecting you to come roaring around so watch out. If I remember correctly the last couple clicks on the north section were pretty chewed up.

Just rode it this past Sunday. I love that road. Very technical but every single corner is blind with rapid elevation changes. I am actually going back this coming weekend and will be including it again. It is a residential road so there could easily be a car/truck coming out of any of the numerous hidden driveways to be conscious of and pedestrians on the side of the road to be cautious/courteous of and for. The road is relatively clean (sand but on a very coarse surface).

Thanks Op and everybody else with their comments. Never gave that road a thought. Did 118 yesterday, 35, Monck road. Will include that on my next trip.

What and entertaining road!!! Felt like I was on a roller coaster at Wonderland. Clean for the most part, but there was a little dust/sand. Could have been from the previous rainstorm a few days prior. Tight turns and very twisty. The elevations are a thrill on its own. Do it before lunch. Your stomach comes up to your throat and the compression will push your head right into your tank. Glamorgan Rd in GOODERHAM is also a very nice road!

We did Kushog Lake Rd and Deep Bay during the 2011 Mad Bastard.

My best memory from it was stopping in at the Firehouse Restaurant (you can't miss it, it looks like an old fire station and has a vintage fire truck parked in the front.) My fiancee and I hopped in a yellow peddle boat that was parked down at their dock (after asking our server, who smiled and said "go ahead") and took it for a spin around the lake, bloody awesome experience!

Rode it this past Wednesday. South to North. Its clean and free of sand except one ajoining contruction road near the top end. The leaves are just beginning to fall and as mentioned in another thread it can become quite slippery (leaves) later in the Fall.
