Once upon a time, a number of different companies merged and/or were gobbled up to form a conglomerate called General Motors.

Back in the 1970s and 1980s, a Pontiac was a slightly fancier Chevrolet, and a Buick was slightly fancier yet, and the Cadillac had all available goodies. They try harder now to make them look and feel different but it's still like this underneath.

As long as it's not a case of buying a competitor just to shut them down, then its no harm no foul. As long as the 'fringe' products are strong and they don't just kill off entire segments, then what's the complaint really. Plus, the people complaining about orange colored bikes and ugly insect eyes can now buy a bike that doesn't look like that! For all those that remember the Saabaru for example.

There's serious marketing pushes going on with Husky and Gas Gas right now in motorsports. They are present in MotoGP/2/3 with some new team purchases/sponsorships this year. Money is coming from the manufacturer instead of begging Saudi princes for sponsorship.

As long as this trajectory is followed, then no harm in snapping up a company that was doing only around $5 million in revenue a year. Obviously things change in the future though.
 
if they sell em. what's the issue.
I'm digging the cast wheels for the 700SM but red aint my colour.

And all those Moto GP bikes (including CFMoto by the way) are exactly the same.
