KTM, Ducati, Suzuki or Aprilia?

Looking for a fast reliable supermoto that is street legal over 600cc. Interested in long trips and the occasional track day. What do you guys recommend?

I give you the super moto Kawi Versys

Some assembly required...

Seeing as you're leaning towards more street and some track I'd say 690 Duke (but before 2012... they got ugly this year).

Does wingboy still have his hyper moto for sale? Long distances are not really the forte of supermotos.

I have comfortably ridden my KTM 950SM all over the place. Week long trips of 4000kms thru the mountains are awesome on it. And the bonus is that if you encounter roads with less than perfect pavement, or no pavement at all, the bike just shrugs it off.
Be careful, this bike is also like a sportbike that begs you to ride over curbs, down flights of steps, etc.

100 hp, 400 lbs, brembos and top shelf suspension, on gnarly roads it can run away from sportbikes. It really shines in the 50-140 kmh range..over 140 you feel like you're gonna blow right off of it.

 That's some awesome!

If you want something a little lighter - 690 SMC. Although you'll have to go used market because its no longer being sold. You can also get the Enduro version and get a set of sumo wheels. It gives you more flexibility with your ride - Dirt - Street - Track. I wish I had gone that route.

I'd go with the KTM if you want to do some actual offroading. If you just plan to use it on some "gnarly" roads then you have to look at the Aprilia Dorsoduro 1200. 140hp and a boatload of torque with long travel suspension and traction control... it will do fire roads in style (but you don't wanna crash it) and everywhere else it's a torque monster. Very cool. And it's fairly comfortable.

But then, the new Tuono v4R is knocking right on the same door... it's just not as fire road friendly. If that's what you plan to do with it, it will do track days like a @#$@#%er. More power than a pre-2005 GSX-R in an upright superbike chassis.

All the bikes in this thread are hard on gas, though................

Welcome.
