Kimpex Oil Filter

For those who always wanted to know if the Kimpex oil filter is any good. Here is your review.

The Spring and by-pass valves seem to be of good quality. There is an actual metal spring as compared to cheap oil filter, where they can use just a sheet of metal to put tension on the filter cartridge. The by-pass valve is made of nutrile rubber it appears. The filter material is glued to a metal cap which holds everything in place.

For the price, its not a bad filter.

Oh yes, one more thing, the gasket that comes in contact with the engine is round and not square as some filters. This forms a better seal than a square gasket

Kimpex, this is for your GSXR?

Why don't you get an adaptor and run other filters, that will save you in the long run...

It's just $8, not too bad if u ask me. Plus my Akra exhaust is really close to my oil filter, there is no room for anything to get between there.

Not bad $8!! I am paying $9 for a hi-flow...

I sell Bosch 3300's for $8 same maker as purolator filters, curious as to whom makes the kimpex filters?

I sent my oil for an oil Analysis and they said my oil is fine! It means that this filter is doing its job, even though there was a leak in the air filter. There are no silica in the oil. I will confirm when I get the official results.

Checking again, the oil filter is actually $10

Professional review on how well my oil filter is doing. Check the Silicon reading

No they dont they fit every other but not the course suzuki thread.....I sell alot of these to Nissan 350z owners, not sure why suzuki chose the course thread.

Suzuki chose the fine thread - Suzi is 20 x 1.0 - Most others are 20 x 1.5

There is an adapter available - http://balestech.com/filter.htm - which converts most Suzi's to accept the better / more common filters.
I have this installed on one of my Suzi's

How does that work?
Does that mean that it will not sit flatly on the gasket?

It sits perfectly flat - just like the OEM adapter - only this one has 1.5mm pitch threads instead of 1.0mm pitch

These pics ought to explain it.

Removing the old one was a destructive process - as you can see.

Whoa, you had a really hard time removing the original adapter. Was it really worth it? lol.

Thanks for the pics tho

hard time? no - took about 2 minutes with vise grips - I spent more time taking the pics.
Was it really worth it - yes.

My bad, I just went with the assumption by how mangled the threads were and looking at the gasket seat, it appears as if someone took a hacksaw to it

I think I will stick with the Kimpex oil filter, they are not too bad. Frekeyguy keep pestering me on getting an adapter

OMG love Purolator filters. I used the extra long one on my 08 R6, just barely cleared!!! That filter guy that rips apart and tests all the filters say Purolator has the most surface area and the smallest particle filtering ability :)
