Kid Rock... WTF?!?

Well. American Bad A*S he's not anymore...

Have his latest CD - "Rebel Soul".
I'm having difficulty figuring it out. Do I like it or despise it? Don't like, don't loathe...

His original rap-core days are done. Nothing even remotely like it on this CD.

More like Bob Seger meets Hillbilly/Motown.

Really, don't know how else to describe it.

Anyone else hear it yet?
 
I think you could see it coming the way he's progressed.

It's not a bad thing - he's just found the meaningful part of the music.
 
The older he gets, the more and more I like his music... I HATED his early music, but now I would actually really like to go see him live. Finally has his own totally unique style.
He's doing his own thing and I think it's the genuine part of it that I like.

+1 Wasn't a fan of his early stuff but he has stepped into his own now.
 
I heard him on Howard the other week. I enjoyed it before they played his new single..... what f'ing awful music..... so disappointed.

I am going through his newest album... Some of it is a step backwards I think.
 
Glad to see the "Kid" part is disappearing over time. Haven't heard the new compilation yet but I'll probably buy it. Saw him last year in London, thoroughly enjoyed it. I go to concerts in Detroit regularly, he always pops in and does a cameo on stage.
 
He has made his money and is now doing what he wants to - as JFD put it, his meaningful part of music... the part he's always wanted to do but couldn't due to record companies etc etc.

He's got balls for doing it.. give him that.
