For the gourmands among us. I like my high fat food and work on keeping carbs down ( very mild Keto but with little red meat)
These are both early in the game but .....
Arteries and Stroke - CMA
I found the remarkable stat in actual patients
“Those patients with higher levels of CMA following their first strokes never got a second one, while second strokes occurred in nearly all the patients with low CMA activity,” said Cuervo. “This suggests that your CMA activity level post-endarterectomy could help in predicting your risk for a second stroke and in guiding treatment, especially for people with low CMA.”
Lot of positive spin offs from this tho there is always the Mediterranean diet.

Type 2 Diabetes treatment this time which I'm on the cusp of
long ways off for practical use. Kind of remarkle tech tho
The stats for Type Two especially in New York City with it's high Askenazi population who are prone to Type Two ( there are other sub-populations that are as well..Indigenous Australians for another ) are set to go off the charts and the cost to the medical system very high as well as life expectancy reduction.
Indigenous groups run in the 50% range for type two while in New York City it is estimated that one in 8 adults has Type 2
I was diagnosed pre-diabetic but my last two A1C tests were high normal ( was a bit surprised but pleasantly so ).
Guess a lighter better diet ( fewer carbs and more protein ) and the energy consumed riding regularly for hours at time have had a positive impact.
I have flat feet so any sort of extended walking is out.....pedal EV assist bicycle would fix that and give me some cardio but $$$ right now. Rode the one I bought with my daughter and quite enjoyed but don't have $2k plus and the long rides on the CB300F are good energy ( and head space ) but no cardo
My dad had a heart attack only 3 years after walking his 12 mile maintenance route at INCO for 31 years and only missing one day of work
He drove himself to the hospital but he was lucky as it was a major event.
Doc said walk ....so he did 5 km every day and at 75 was told he had a heart of a 35 year old. Made it to 95 still driving legally ...nice goal for me but damn feet just make anything beyond a km ( at best ) too painful....orthotics used to help and I slogged out a 1/2 marathon and hiked the Grand Canyon up and down in a day but that was decades and 100 lbs lighter ago.
Plus I'm preserving my knees as well.
I'll keep riding motorcycle - 2-3 x a week then switch out to EV pedal assist when finances and circumstances permit. Then for short errands I can wear less armor and make use of the extensive bike paths.
75 in a few months and happy to reach that still riding, next goal is 80 and evaluate.
I tell you, rarely see anyone armoured up here except the sports bike crowd and even not all of them. Very tempting when it's so hot and civilized drivers.
Jackets and helmets, shorts and runners are the norm with lots just shorts and tees and even sandals. Glad there is filtering so not sitting in the tropical sun for long.
Most wear gloves as +14 UV will roast your hands right quick.

Ramping up a natural cellular cleaning process could help prevent arteries from clogging and causing heart attacks and strokesDepositphotos
Researchers at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine have discovered a new potential way to prevent arteries clogging, and as such reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes. The technique involves ramping up a cleaning process that naturally slows down as we age.

Diabetes successfully treated using ultrasound in preclinical study
Promising new research has raised the possibility of treating type 2 diabetes without drugs. Across three different animal models researchers have demonstrated how short bursts of ultrasound targeted at specific clusters of nerves in the liver can effectively lower insulin and glucose levels.
