So I currently have a ZZR 250 that is sold for July 19th and I'm looking at getting the new Kawi 300. Love the look of it but not sure if I would rather get the ZX6R. Any thoughts on the 300 would be appreciated!!

Depends if you're ready and comfortable riding a 600cc or higher bike. If not, I would choose the CBR500 over the Kawi300. My reasoning; jumping from 250 to 300 is not much of a difference. However, there is nothing wrong with the 300. Just my 2 cents.

The step from a ZZR250 (not a 2008+ Ninja 250) to a Ninja 300 is a pretty big one ... not in weight, size, or outright top speed, but certainly in terms of appearance and sophistication. If you don't need the ZX6R's acceleration and speed (and on a street bike, no one NEEDS it!) then go for it. The Ninja 300 is still light and nimble like you are used to.

Looking for a bit more power go with the 6r. If you want to save on insurance go 300. They both look sharp imo!

Thanks for the tips everyone! I would love the speed of a 600 and I'm ready for it but I also like shifting and using all my gears so it will probably be the 300 as it has a very sexy look to it and will be cheap for my insurance. Now to decide white or green and black, I'm leaning more towards the green and black as it does make the bike seem a bit bigger!

We don't have white here. Just red, black, and SE green.

Well I guess that makes my decision easy then! SE green it is! I'll be getting one next year! I should be pregnant this summer so that will end my riding season this year :(

haha then you better get your riding out of the way!

i wonder if you ride while your preg, will your child(ren) grow up wanting to ride a motorcycle too? if so that would be awesome! family day at the track on sundays will be my dream hahah

Pretty sure we also got the Moondust in Canada:

Haha I would never sell my bike because of having a baby! Riding will be a stress reliever for me! The husband can look after the baby while I get out for a bit and of we both want to go out we will get a babysitter! Life doesn't stop because you have kids, just slows down a bit :)

Yep. Forgot about that one. ;) I would have got that one but I couldn't justify spending an extra $700 for the abs/SE name.
I'd pay $700 for what is basically extra lifetime insurance for rain riding...

Hey, my mom rode on the back of my dad's bike in the early 70's when she was pregnant with my youngest brother.

He couldn't give a #$%@ about bikes!

That's surprising, we usually see people sell their bikes after they have a kid.

My wife wouldn't let me get a bike until I got her pregnant. Still got the bike first though... now I get to have fun during the day and at night lol

OP, I love shifting through the gears too, but it just feels so nice not to have to all the time. Especially if you are riding through the city.

My girlfriend got the special edition a few weeks ago - she loves it. The break-in period seems rather restrictive (below 4000rpm for the first 1000K? can't even merge on the 401 at that speed). Regardless, it's a fun ride.

That's my red CBR500R behind there. :D

Wait until you have one, then revisit this statement.

Read it again. A lot of people said the same for my bike, but if you read it carefully it just states that you shouldn't hold it above a certain rpm for long periods of time during break in. So quick acceleration and high rpm is alright, just don't hold it up there. Also search different break in methods if you don't like the one your owner's manual prescribes.
