Thinking of going for a ride on Sunday or Monday Sept 5/6 around the Kawartha/ Muskoka area.

Possible route: 35 up to the 118, east to the 503, then down and back up the 507, and west on the 503 back towards 35.

Anyone interested in joining?

I was thinking about heading up that way too. Got a couple nice routes for my GPS up in the Haliburton/Kawartha lakes area. Here are the main ones I was thinking of:

Hopefully gonna get a few of my friends to join, but would be cool to meet up with some new riders from here as well. Keep us posted on your plans, and hopefully our plans may be aligned.

I'm also open to riding to some other areas, like north of Peterborough or Kingston areas, got some more routes for those too. I'm pretty much open from Sat to Tues (took an extra day off). Rather than me creating a duplicate thread I figured I'd just mention that here, and anyone interested can PM me to discuss those.

pace of ride? 300s welcomed?

I'm not going to be up north this weekend, but can tell you that in that first route just north of Minden, Bobcaygeon Rd has some pretty big bumps on it right in the tire tracks, so be a little careful. Also from that second route, Upper Big Chute has been pretty beat up since they are doing road work - not sure if they have finished the work. Check the sticky in the Cruising/Touring forum for lots more roads and routes. Safe riding!

I had this trip in pending for sometime now,
From where you start you ride?my location is in downtown, got FZ6R 600cc..

It doesn't matter who you are, where you come from or which God you believe in...if you are motorcyclists, You are my Brother.

I'm on a 636 ninja, and I live downtown, but I'll actually be up north that day already. I will start at the intersection of 35 and monck rd (45). You ok to meet there?

You prefer Sunday or Monday?

If you up for Sunday i'll might join you for this ride. Monday there is more traffic everybody is coming back from their cottages.

I'm on a 250 myself. I do ride as spirited as possible with the size of the bike.

Thanks for the heads up on those. I've already done Upper Big Chute earlier this year, and wasn't all too impressed... might be fun on a huge displacement bike and no regard for the law, but otherwise just felt like big long stretches of middle of nowhere. I'd probably alter the course to remove that part this time around.

I prefer Sunday, let me know if that works for you?

OK! So Sunday is perfect. I am open to modifying the route if someone has a good suggestion. Do you want to meet me at the intersection of 35 & Monck Rd at 10am on Sunday morning? There is a parking lot there, and we can decide where exactly to go.

Everyone who is interested is welcome, regardless of bike. I'm more interested in taking the twistiest roads in the area, at reasonable speeds for the condition, than flying down a straightaway at 3x the speed limit.

I'm thinking of doing a loop that takes a few hours at most, so I'd probably just do the eastern part of the routes mentioned above (without heading to Gravenhurst)

Hey! Sorry to hear you can't join. Would have been good to have you :-) Hope the bike is getting tuned, not fixed.

Time frame? I just did this last weekend but I could be down to do it again Sunday. Gotta enjoy it while the weather lasts!

OP already mentioned to be all the way up there by 10AM. Coming from Toronto that would mean being up at 6-7AM, to be on the road by 8AM to make such a time... Don't know about the rest of you, but that's a little bit early for my likings to be getting up on a long weekend Sunday, so if my own group ride plans pan out I'll probably be heading up a little bit later than that, but if a few others from here are planning to head up for that meet time and want to ride up together, then I'd be willing to suck it up to make things work for a bigger (and hopefully better) group ride... but so far no one here is firming up and confirming if they are going , so can we get a roll call on who is actually planning on going?

Agreed! Let's firm up whos coming.

And I'm willing to push time to accommodate the group. So just let me know who's in, and if you have a different preference for time or route.

I'll meet others at ON-35/Monck Rd. Some people might be coming from dt Toronto, so you can ride up together from wherever is convenient

Well, my buddies are out (one's rad blew today, and another is spending time with his wife. Pfft), so I'll be making my way up for this.

Martin, you want to meet up in Toronto and ride up? I'm right by L&L, so we could meet there (or if anywhere else would make more sense based on where you're located, I'm open to suggestions). Say meet for 9, and be on the road by 9:30. Should have us up there by around 11:30. You cool with that timeframe Jenya? Domini, you're way out in Brampton, so probably make more sense to meet along the way, like around 404 and Hwy 7 for 10AM, and then ride up from there.

How's that sound to everyone? Anyone else that wants to join up and can make these meet spot/times is welcome as far as I'm concerned.
