K&N Cleaner and Oil on Foam Filter?

Can I use the K&N cleaner and oil spray on a KTM foam air filter? If I remember correctly K&N filters are paper, but I don't see why I can't use their cleaning products on a foam filter.

I would guess not. The k and n has a s[pecial filtering matierial, my guess would be the oil would plug up the paper filter .....

Just buy a new Filter. You're already in there....might as well.

Just to let u know the K&N is made of a cotton guaze.

I would just use it, oil is used just to catch the dirt particles

It's a serviceable filter.

KTM recommends using Motorex cleaner and oil but I bet it's about $60-80 for the kit. F Motorex il use the K&N stuff I have.

K&N oil is too thin for use on a foam filter like a UNI etc....ask me how I know, right after you sop up the oil outta my airbox,LOL

I used the K&N foam filter cleaner and oil for years on my MX air filters.
Considering I clean the filter every single weekend and never had any problems, I would say it's safe to use!

Now, I am using PJ1. Simply because it's a better deal (get a bigger can of filter oil which always runs out before you run out of cleaner). Can find it at crappy tire as well.

I use the filter cleaner stuff for other things as well, it's great for getting the oil off stuff!
