Just ordered my Riffleman 1/5 throttle!!!

I have one on both my bikes (zx10, gsxr), and they work great. Install can be a bit of a PITA but it's worth it. Took awhile to get used to on the zx10.

You must have had great front tire life with a mod like that on the ZX10R

Pardon my noobness, but I am not 100% on what this mod does.
I am guessing the "1/5 throttle" means that if I twisted my throttle half-way, you would only have to turn yours "10%" to be giving your bike as much gas as mine? (assuming we were running identical bikes)

Thanks for edumacating me. :D

I'm guessing other ratios are available too? I think if I were to put a 1/5 on my bike now, I'd have a hard time getting used to is since I ride around town a lot. Wouldn't want to WOT by accident lol.

for me to get 1/5 throttle on my gixxer all I had to do was install an 04 R1 throttle tube for $25.

I guess mine was more because it included the grip and everything

Thats not correct, As most bikes come with 1/4 throttle which means WOT is a 90 degree turn, A 1/5 throttle means WOT is a 72 degree turn.
I believe R6's and R1's already come with it.

From the reviews I've been reading... ppl that switch to 1/5 throttle dont usally go back to normal. Apparently it is so much easier on your wrist...and riding around town isnt as bad.

Oh I get it now makes sense.
I had understood it as this mod would only require you to turn 1/5 of the throttle to reach what I get to by twisting mine 90 degrees, making the mod be 18 degrees to WOT, LOL!

Based on the other quote above, I agree that this would actually feel better. Often times I need to wrist-over-knuckles for me to be able to WOT. One of the first things I learned about riding is never to wrist-over-knucles when putting my hand on the throttle (for street use at least).

Ya replied early in the am, makes sense now that the fog has lifted.

I made my own with a piece of pvc pipe and a dremel. Didnt take long getting used to. I wouldnt go back.
