Hi Guys!

I just moved to Etobicoke from Montréal in January so I'll be discovering a lot of new roads next summer. From what I heard however, I think I'll be missing the proximity of the Adirondacks in NY (45 mins from Montreal) which was literally my playground for the last 3 years.

I have a SV650S since May 2010 (my first bike) and I've since put over 40000 km on it. I had a full license in Québec but the great inter-provincipal license exchange rules granted me a M2 here so I have to go for my M2 exit test sometime in April. I'm considering getting a GSXR750 or a S1000RR but I'll wait until I turn 30 as I'm already shocked by the cost of insurance here.

In order for me to get my Ontario license plate, I need to get a safety inspection done. I also need a new chain/sprocket. I'm not too familiar with the shops around my place yet but I found Riders Choice which seems to be fairly close.

Any recommendation of other reputable places I could go for service in my area (Bloor/427). Because I live in a condo, I have to rely on a garage for most of my service needs because I have no room to do that myself.

One last thing, I want to get a slip-on to because the stock exhaust looks awful and sounds like a land mower. I never did it in Québec because as soon as your exhaust is not stock, you have so much trouble with police. How is it here?

Looking forward to riding with you :D

Welcome to Ontario and to the site!

To get your bike satisfied you can always go to Rosey Toes Motorcycles Inc the address is 131 Wendell Ave, North York, ON M9N3K9. Not too far from you and its good on cost.

To get any real service though I would recommend Pro 6 Cycle the service is always fantastic there and they are also very close to you.

Insurance here will definitely rape you in so shop around to find whats best for you.

I haven't had any issues with my exhaust and I don't actually know of anyone who has so I don't think you'll have any issues.

Cheers! :)

Welcome!!

You got me worried here. It's not like if I can do anything else than that. I guess I'll be using that disk lock for what it's worth (got bored of using it after a week in Montreal) and hope for the best.

Seriously , do
A search on the fourm. You'll see for yourself, I'm not trying to buz kill, it's a really bad problem in the gta , see if you can wedge it inbetween your car and the wall, if not , rent a storage space

I went to Rosey today and apparently he doesn't have the license required to do the safety anymore so Riders Choice it will be.

welcome!
