Just got my first bike! Saying HI

Hey everyone on GTAM,

My name is Michael from mississauga. Im 20 and just got my first bike! and am really excited. It's a white 2011 ninja 250.

Im new to riding so I'll be taking it slow and learning on the way. Have been practicing daily around the neighbourhood, just figuring out when the clutch engages etc. If anyone has any quick pointers etc I would love to have some feedback. Also it will be getting stored inside the garage, so any small tips that the manual and other sources might not off talked about would be greatly appreciated.

grats on the bike! good choice for a beginner bike =). If you are having trouble with the stop and take off than I have a tip for you. If you are stop at a light and you want to take off smoothly when you release your clutch, wait until you feel the friction point, where the 250R's RPM will drop slightly, that is when you know you are engaged, and than slowly roll on your gas and off you go =).
 
Congrats on the bike! Take it slow, remember that you must make yourself visible to other vehicles and assume that cars around you haven't seen you. Always be aware of your surroundings.
