Just Got My Bike

Hello everyone. I just got my first bike: 2009 Ninja 250. Waiting for Rosey to come safety my bike so I can get insurance and transfer it under my name. Anyways, I have seen the bike 3 times before I pulled the trigger to buy it.

Today morning I turn it on everything is good but its taking a while to warm up and it shuts off real quick if its not warm even under all this heat. Why is that? Secondly, there is this weird beeping noise coming from the tank. Sometimes it sounds like a if there is an alarm going off and other times it sounds like as if a grenade exploded and your ears are still ringing. Now this is making me paranoid as its my first bike. Is there something to be worried about? All 3 times I went the problem was not there. First bike so kind of worried. Oh, the bike has been previously dropped but the sliders have saved the bike.

I bought a 2011 Ninja 250 and it makes the same beeping sound. I was concerned too intially but i just think it's something to do with the chain that causes the noise.
And when the bike is parked you'll notice a hising noise after every little while from the bike. That's the gas tank pressure release. So don't worry.

Great bike. It does need to be warm though. Enjoy it, lots of fun to ride.

Shew, was really worried. Thank good its not just me. I do have it recorded if anyone wants to hear. Any website I can uploaded to so people can hear?

1. Carb'd bikes need time to warm up.
2. The tank making a high pitched sound is normal.

Thanks all for input. Hopefully, I get to ride with you guys and learn. I live in Brampton area so if you guys ate down or live here, HOLLA!

Hello. After having the bike for quite sometime now i have been noticing something with it. Now, i dont know if its with all ninja models or not but something that is making me angry. So this problem happens likes this....

I turn on bike, turn choke on to get it warm real quick. Once it reaches stable of 4000 rpm im ready to roll. Once i start rolling i notice that the bike stutters when i give gas a little more then i should. It just stutters and sometimes just dies (stalled it on road like that). So after starting the bike and riding for under 30 minutes it does that, stutters as i give more gas than usual, starts off very slow and stutters and sometimes turns off as i mentioned above.

2009 ninja, 20,000k
been dropped before.
it had winter fuel about 4 tanks ago, was a lot worse then. Any ideas please?

Your pilot jets are getting gummed up/clogged or it running too rich. Does it get worse as the bike gets warm? Ie. Is it worse after 30 min of riding than say 5 min of riding?

It is possible that after a few years the pilot mixture screws have turned out a little bit due to constant vibration.

Your bike needs some time to warm up. And warm up on a ninja usually means cranking the choke, jumping on the bike and riding. They are not meant to be running while parked and without a load.

After running for about 5 mins turn the choke off.... and if it still dies than yes, carb might need some adjustments.
