Just bought first bike

Hi guys and gals!
My name is Peter, I'm from Toronto and I just bought my first motorcycle a few days ago. It's a 1990 Kawasaki ZR550, and I already love it to death. I've been lurking for a few months now, and this forum has been an incredible resource for me. Big thanks to all of you for being so informative. Once I get my finances in order, I'll definitely be making a donation to the site.
 
Great first bike. Way cooler than the standard boring ol' Ninja 250.
 
haha thanks. I looked into loads of bikes before deciding on it. there were 4 available for sale in southern ontario a month ago, but they all got sold. with a bit of patience & the help of kijiji alerts, I managed to find one in Windsor. got a lift down from my roommate last weekend & rode it all the way home. she's so comfy 4 hours went by like nothing.

I'm not a big fan of sport bikes, and I love the 70's throwback style, thus my lusting after this one.
I paid $1800, but she needs a new chain & a few other goodies before she's up to snuff. all in all I think for $2100ish I got a pretty sweet deal considering that it's the exact bike I was after.
 
Welcome and nice bike indeed, very nice shape for it's age. And i agree with Retrogrouch, so much cooler than generic choice of a ninja that so many first riders go for. More people need to branch out and actually try some of the older bikes, there are so many cool used bikes on kijiji that you can pick up for half of what a new ninja costs that will give you every bit (and probably way more) pleasure. :)
 
Great condition, I hope you don't have any spills on it. Would be a shame!

My first bike was a ninja.. 750. I don't recommend this route!!
