Jerky on/off throttle control?

I adjusted the thotte slack easily enough...a simple lock bolt and adjuster...I can play around with it tomorrow and get it to my likeness..

Bigger problem is the chain...I just checked the slack and I can pull it up and down so much it touches the swing arm....also it lines up with the 'replace chain' red indicator on the back of the swing arm. I can't figure out how to adjust it so I'm not going to try..I'll take it to Rosey Toes or if anyone can recommend someone around Ajax who can do a simple cash job? GP Bikes didn't point out anything about the chain when I asked them to do the safety / oil change to start the season, but in fairness I have put quite a few KMs on the bike since then and the service they gave me was good. Does anyone know a good mechanic with lots of GEN-6 VFR experience? I'm going to need someone to do a big service at the end of the season so I want to start looking. This would be a good place to start...

Thanks.

if it's anything like my gen 3 to adjust the chain there is a special crescent moon tool with teeth on the inside of the curve. there is also a pinch bolt on the rear of the swing arm. beside (to the right) the rear sprocket is where you put the tool either on the top and push down to lengthen the swing arm or on the bottom and pull up. there's probably instructions on the net... also i find below 5k rpm the bike is tame, above 5k you need finer throttle control.

yeah from the manual and VFR forums I figured it out...but even I can't tighten it any more ot reduce the slack...I know I had the 'moon' wrench thing in right because I was able to loosen it to create more slack, but when i turn it the other way it stops..and there is just too much slack - I'm not the most mechanical person but it seems obvious to me. I'll have a qualified mechanic confirm...probably Rosey Toes since he is trust worthy. It's been a while since I replaced a chain - does anyone know what it would cost roughly?

if you have it at the end then it probably needs a new chain. 106 links iirc might be 108...
