Jays are on fire!

that doesnt matter, look at every other division and they would be 3rd and in some cases 2nd. AL east is the toughest in baseball. They got some key games coming up, so it should get interesting.

They won 11 in a row and are still on the bottom half of the division. Really shows how poor they started.

Bandwagoners are asking if its safe to come out yet? 11 in a row is impressive no matter how you look at it. Them sweeping Baltimore was huge as they're our division rivals. I'd rather them finish strong then finish weak

yeah you don't win 11 in a row by just luck. this team has serious talent and was picked to win the world series in the preseason. sometimes is takes a team a little while to get going.

Do they play about 200 games or so?

There are 162 games in the season. The All Star break is at the half way point. The Jays are certainly still in the running. I was at Friday night's game and the atmosphere at Rogers was better than it has been for years.

Watched that on tv. When Kawasaki was batting I felt like it was game 7 of the World Series. Was intense.

So many damn haters - people had given up on them before the season was 1/4 of the way through!

It's hard to be a sports fan in Toronto, but people here have lost sight of what it really means to support a team. Everyone needs to stop the default reaction of "immediate disappointment" if they lose a few games.

That being said, I wish more people hated the Leafs, and stopped going to games... maybe they'd get better.

They are getting better finally. Fans need to realize that progress doesn't happen overnight. Is it taking longer than most people thought? Yes it is. Have some bad decisions been made? Absolutely. I think the right people are in the right jobs now to get the team on track to be a contender in the east. We have a pretty young team and they are bound to make mistakes, but there is some definite talent there.

I was extremely proud of them this year, thought they did very well, and look forward to the start of the next season

You were proud of them giving up a 3 goal lead????

Was their yesterday. Of course at the very bottom, no wind, scorching sun. My son and I were drenched by the time
We left. Great game though. Let's
Just hope they don't blow it and start another slide!

That was disappointing for sure, but woot happens. Their inexperience played a big part in that lead blowing up. I didn't expect them to beat Boston in the first round. They had troubles against them all year, and when one player has more playoff experience than your whole team its never a good start. I was pleasantly surprised they made it to game 7, but I knew that once they opened up that lead they would lose. Its not often you embarrass a team like Boston in their home city in game 7 and get away with it. If they can keep playing like they did this season, this team will be a contender in the upcoming years

Seriously, how can you Leafer fans even breath thier name in a Jays thread? Its summer, baseball season. The boys of summer are doing just fine.

curveball
we are now talking about hockey?

We arent.
Its those Leaf fans, like talking motorcycles with the great unwashed, they think every sport bike is a Gixxer. Leafers think every sport thread must be about hockey
